Calista Corporation Announces Annual Meeting Results

(Anchorage, Alaska) - Calista Corporation announced today the results of the 2014 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, held July 12, 2014, in Kalskag, Alaska. Nearly 6,200 proxies were received with more than 450 of these cast online. Shareholders voted on the election of four board directors and one advisory resolution. A total of 55 percent of all outstanding shares were cast in person or by proxy for this meeting.

Within each Administrative Unit, the candidate receiving the largest number of votes cast is the elected director. Directors serve three-year terms. The elected directors are as follows:

    • Margaret Pohjola was releected for Administrative Unit 7
    • Willie Kasayulie was reelected for Administrative Unit 8
    • Newly elected for Administrative Unit 9 was Earl Samuelson, Sr.
    • Leslie R. Hunter, Sr. was newly elected for Administrative Unit 10

Additionally, there was one advisory resolution. Advisory resolutions are non-binding. The level of support for an advisory resolution is considered by the Board in evaluating the proposed action of the resultion. The advisory resultion and result was:

Replace Administrative Unit Selection of Board Members (147,394 in favor; 284,785 opposed)

2014 marked the first year electronic online proxy voting was an option for Shareholders. Shareholders were able to vote online using their personal computers, tablets or smartphones.
