Current CFO Dixie Retherford Announces Her Departure
(Anchorage, AK) - Calista Corporation is pleased to announce the selection of Sharon Weddleton as the new chief financial officer. Current CFO Dixie Retherford has revealed her plans to leave Calista at the end of September, at which time Weddleton will take over.
Weddleton has a rich history in Alaska. She serves as Bristol Industries LLC CFO, a shared services subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation where she has held various positions since 2009. From 2003-2009 Weddleton served in various positions, including CFO for the Municipality of Anchorage. She attended University of Washington where she earned a bachelor’s and an MBA.
“Sharon’s experience in both Alaska Native Corporations and municipal utilities will serve Calista shareholders well,” said Calista Corporation President Andrew Guy. “As Calista grows and advocates for the Calista Region, we look to Sharon to combine her strengths and experiences to effectively manage corporate finances.”
Weddleton is active within the community. She currently serves as treasurer for West High School’s Parent Teacher Student Association. In the past she has also served on the board for various other organizations, including the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility, and Junior Achievement of Alaska.
Retherford has said she is looking forward to spending time with family and doing some traveling – for enjoyment. “Dixie’s 20 years of excellent service and dedication to Calista is greatly appreciated,” said Guy.
