Sometimes we may not want to think about a world after we’re gone, but it is necessary for all Shareholders, to ease the burden on our families.

Your personal will and estate planning may encompass your belongings and finances, but as a Calista Shareholder, you must consider the importance of a Calista Stock Will or Life Estate Beneficiary form to your family after you pass away.

CLASS A & B STOCK

Calista Shareholders who have Class A and Class B stock should submit a valid Calista Stock Will and update it as necessary. Class A and B stock is owned by original Shareholders and those who received it through gifting or inheritance. Class A stock is linked to enrollment in a village corporation, and Class B stock is for At-Large Shareholders who did not enroll in a village corporation.

The Calista Stock Will ensures your stock is transferred to the individual, or individuals, you want it to when you pass. It saves time and sometimes years of research to identify heirs. Finally, a Calista Stock Will reduces delays for loved ones inheriting stock to receive Calista benefits and distributions.

CLASS C & D STOCK

Calista Shareholders who have Class C and Class D stock should complete a Life Estate Beneficiary form. Class C and D stock is known as life estate stock because it is valid only for the lifetime of the Shareholder and is canceled upon passing of the Shareholder. Class C stock is issued to Descendants of an original Shareholder, and Class D stock is issued to those who missed enrollment in 1971. With life estate stock, it’s still important for Shareholders 18 and over to designate their beneficiaries for unpaid distributions if they pass away.

The new Life Estate Beneficiary form enables Calista Shareholders with Class C and D life estate stock to specify who will receive their unpaid distributions. Although Class C and D stock is not transferable to other Shareholders, you may still have unpaid distributions due to you at the time of your passing. This form makes it legally clear who should receive your unpaid distributions. Quyana for taking the time to complete a Calista Stock Will or a Life Estate Beneficiary form. It is a top priority and may only take up to an hour, but it can save months in processing time. It’s important to the future of your loved ones.
