Social Media Contest Offers Two Chances to Win Prizes

(Anchorage, Alaska) – Calista Corporation and the Yukon-Kuskokwim Regional Tribal Government are launching a Why Voting is Important contest ahead of the 2024 General Election on November 5, 2024.
The contest has two phases, or chances to win: Phase I will run from October 11 to October 26 and a winner will be selected October 29. Phase II will run from October 27 to November 5 and a winner will be selected November 15. The prizes for each phase will be $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, and $7,000.
To qualify for the contest, Calista Shareholders and Yukon-Kuskokwim Region Tribal citizens of voting age (18 and older) will publish a Facebook post with a photo or video explaining why voting is important and follow the steps below.
Steps to enter the contest:
- Create a short video or take a photo of why voting is important
- Include the Y-K RTG voter link: https://ykrtg.org/vote
- Include the State of Alaska absentee registration link: https://absenteeballotapplication.alaska.gov/
- Include the #YKVOTE hashtag
- Post to Facebook then email a screenshot of your post(s) to govrelations@calistacorp.com. (If an Elder or someone from the community is unable to post on Facebook, someone may help them and include the individual’s name and contact information in the email.)
- Participants may also receive another entry if they share the Calista Alaska Voter Registration Tips: 2024 Election video on Facebook
Entries received October 11 to October 26 are eligible only for Phase I. You will need to submit another entry between October 27 to November 5 to be entered for Phase II.
