(Anchorage, Alaska) – Seven Calista Corporation Shareholders are winners of Regular Early Bird proxy prizes in the 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. The prizes are randomly drawn by Sramek Hightower, a certified public accounting firm in Anchorage that serves as the Inspector of Elections.

Nearly 12,500 Shareholders who voted by paper or online by 5 p.m. on May 22 qualified for the Regular Early Bird prizes and were entered in all remaining prize drawings. The winners are:

  • $10,000 Prize – River E. Knowles (Anchorage)
  • $2,500 Prize – Minnie Hopstad (Anchorage)
  • $1,000 Prize –
    • Jayne M. Arellano (Anchorage)
    • Tom G. Peter, Jr. (Wasilla)
    • Gretchen L. Williams (Anchorage)
    • Evelyn M. Agnus (Anchorage)
    • Martha Andrews (Kotlik)

Among all voters, about 9 in 10 Shareholders voted online, including 7 in 10 Elders.

The deadline to qualify for the final round is 5 p.m. on Monday, June 1 (all times Alaska). All valid paper and online proxies received by this deadline qualify. There are 10 prizes totaling $17,000.

“Since 2022, proxy prize winners have come from 31 different Y-K Region communities, and a few throughout Alaska and beyond,” said Thom Aparuk Leonard, vice president of corporate affairs. “These proxy prizes are a great incentive to vote, but the real power is that only Shareholder votes elect Directors.”

Proxy prizes are only awarded if enough Shareholders vote and quorum is reached. This makes the Annual Meeting valid. Learn more at www.CalistaCorp.com/AnnualMeeting.
